Isle of Lewis Hotel Accommodation

Standing stones on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles of ScotlandLewis Hotels are renowned for being amongst the friendliest in Scotland. The culture of the Hebrides strongly values hospitality due to the fact that it was once an important part of the clan system whereby hospitality had to be offered to a visitor even if that person belonged to a clan with which they had a disagreement. Thankfully Scotland is vastly different from those hard days but the importance of hospitality remains and is most evident in hotels, guest houses and other accommodation on the islands of the Hebrides (of which Lewis is the largest).

The Isle of Lewis has a wealth of visitor attractions which together create a fantastic place in which to take a relaxing vacation. Primarily people visit Lewis to enjoy the unique Gaelic culture and the astounding, and diverse, countryside which features a number of world class beaches and rare/unique flora and fauna.

Royal Hotel, Stornoway, Isle of LewisThe Royal Hotel, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

By comparing the photograph to your left with those of the Caberfeidh and Caladh you will notice how much older the Royal Hotel looks in style. The reason why the Royal Hotel looks so wonderful is the fact that it was built in the middle of the nineteenth century and has managed to retain much of it's character and retain many of it's period features (in the front facing rooms) while also offering all the modern services we should expect from such a first class hotel. Only a minute or two from the town centre and with the marina to the front this hotel is extremely popular. Of special note is the hotels cuisine served in their Boatshed Restaurant. For a more vibrant atmosphere visit their excellent HS1 cafe bar.
