The Isle of Lewis is one of the most beautiful islands in the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles of Scotland. Lewis makes up more than one half of the 'Long Island' which is hte name given to the land mass that is Lewis and Harris. Although many assume the Isle of Lewis to be a barren landscape of moorland there could be nothing further from the truth. From the rugged areas around the Port of Ness to the spectacular beaches at Uig and along the west coast, the Isle of Lewis offers a varied landscape which is always beautiful. Even the moors can be incredible places, what is more beautiful than a view of a slightly misty moor with a large loch with the Harris hills as a dramatic backdrop?
